The Next Uprise
The Uprise is rising again!
The Manitou Art Center has joined the movement, starting with a phenomenal art show that's in (appropriately enough) the MAC's First Amendment Gallery through mid-November.
At 7 p.m. on Nov. 6 and 8, the MAC will host The Arts Uprise Dos, a dynamic collection of music, storytelling, poetry, film and more. It represents new partnerships with the Youth Documentary Academy, the Pikes Peak Film Society, Poetry 719, Jesse Wilson's TellTheWinningStory and local singer-songwriters.
Get your tickets now for $20. Proceeds will benefit KCME FM, one of the many art and media outlets facing massive defunding.
The third show - Arts Uprise Tres - will be back at the Millibo Art Theatre Jan. 16-18.
That one will be mostly original theatre, and we're currently taking submissions here.

What Is the Arts Uprise?
The Arts Uprise is a movement and an invitation.
We invite you to join us in channeling creative expression into positive change. We know that the urge to DO SOMETHING can be overwhelming. YOU CAN do something. You can protest. You can contact your elected representatives. And you can join our movement, creating art that speaks truth for the voiceless and shames the oppressors.
We're not alone in this movement. American Theatre Magazine recently launched what it's calling "The Fall of Freedom, and they're asking for theatre troupes around the country to stage protest plays on Nov. 21 and 22.
(We're currently working on adding a show then!)
If you're interested in joining this Uprise, with works that speak to what's happening in our country and our communities, please email us at warrenepstein5@gmail.com.

Our First Festival
The Millibo Art Theatre in Colorado Spring hosted our first Arts Uprise Festival in June, 2025. This sensational collaboration brought together Craft Production Resource, which put on five original one-act plays and two monologues, Auric Gallery, which curated an art show, and musicians and poets, John Spengler, Ashley Cornelius and Sun Carlson.
